Assassin’s Creed film releases “Carriage” clip, shows off great action

Aaaand this is why Ubisoft (and 20th Century Fox) and Michael Fassbender recruited Macbeth director Justin Kurzel for the Assassin’s Creed movie. Regardless of the overall quality of the film itself, it may at least become the best-looking video game movie ever released (with Warcraft ranking 2nd). This is the most action-packed and visually-stunning clip released so far for the film, and it certainly hints at the great action that could be in store for viewers come December 21st.

However, with Kurzel’s hiring, the film’s aesthetics were never going to be in question. What will matter most is the story and how the film pays tribute (while crafting its own interpretation) to the AC series AND do it justice. It becomes increasingly clear that Fassbender was a perfect selection for the film, with the biggest surprise being his work within the action sequences seen so far (most stars of his caliber wouldn’t commit on such a physical level to a video game movie), so I’d imagine he believes in the product that Kurzel and Co. have made over at Fox.

What do you think of the clip? Do you think the Assassin’s Creed name will be done justice with this adaptation? Let us know in the comments!
