There’s lots of stuff in the Battlefield 1 Collector’s Edition

The coolest bit of this Collector’s Edition is the messenger pigeon tube. Messenger pigeons were used heavily during World War I to carry messages from the front lines to command headquarters. The most famous messenger pigeon was Cher Ami, which saved the Lost Battalion of the American 77th Division from friendly bombardment and withering German attack. She did this despite being shot, blinded in one eye, and a suffering severe damage to her leg, which was later amputated. Doctors also made her a wooden leg.

It’s not clear what exclusive DLC is included in the messenger pigeon tube, but it’s exclusive for one year according to the fine print.

Conspicuously absent from all the of preorders is a Premium Subscription (Battlefield‘s version of a season pass for downloadable content). This makes the Collector’s Edition price a little steep. However, Amazon Prime members get 20% off new games and preorders, which makes it significantly more affordable ($176 USD).

If you’re still on the fence about preordering Battlefield 1, become a Battlefield Insider to get access to the Battlefield™ 1 public beta, in-game rewards, exclusive content, and a sneak peek at news about Battlefield.
