Well it’s happening! As we reported yesterday, microtransactions have now been officially announced by Activision for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
The Xbox One marketplace has now been updated again with the listing for ‘Call of Duty Points’ (CP) which are available to purchase right now.
The bundles and pricing are as follows (USD$):
- 200 Call of Duty Points — $1.99/£1.60/€1.99/AUS$2.70
- 1,000 (+100 bonus) Call of Duty Points — $9.99/£7.99/€9.99/AUS$13.45
- 2,000 (+400 Bonus) Call of Duty Points — $19.99/£15.99/€19.99/AUS$26.95
- 4,000 (+1,000 bonus) Call of Duty Points — $39.99/£31.99/€39.99/AU$53.95
Ironically though, these points are not yet available on PlayStation 4 or PC so stand by as I am sure it’s just a case of waiting for the stores to update with this new listing as the announcement advised the points would be available across all three platforms today.
Rare Supply Drops will cost you 200CP, so that’s $1.99 for a guaranteed shot at a rare item or better.
If you are a Zombies co-op fan you will be able to use these points to purchase vials of Liquid Divinium which can be used to create GobbleGums.
The pricing for the Liquid Divinium is:
- 3 for 200CP
- 6 for 400 CP
- 9 for 600CP
The CP will not be limited to Supply Drops and Zombies however, in the near future you will also be able to use these points to purchase additional slots for your class set ups.
Now please keep in mind, the items that you get from Supply Drops are purely cosmetic, so there is no in-game advantage from buying these items, and in fact can sometimes work at a disadvantage for you if you choose to run with bright and loud colors which will have you stand out like a beacon on the battlefield.
So if you are the type of person that just loves customizing your character you can now do so at a faster rate without having to wait until you accumulate enough Cryptokeys, failing that you can join me in slogging it out match after match and earn them the traditional way.
Activision has also announced that all gamers on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC that log in as of tomorrow will receive 200CP to get you started.
