Aaryn Flynn is stepping down after 17 years at Bioware

There’s been a big internal shift at Bioware this week. On July 18th, Aaryn Flynn announced that he was stepping down and would be leaving after July. He’s been with Bioware for 17 years, so this is no small change. Casey Hudson is replacing Aaryn Flynn as the General Manager (GM) of Bioware.

Aaryn says that “I have been contemplating changes in my own life for some time, but when I heard that Casey had confirmed he was up for the task, I realized the opportunities before us. I will be working with him over the next couple of weeks to help catch him up and do my part to set him up for success to be the best GM he can be.

Bioware has quite a bit on their hands right now, from any remaining post-launch support of Mass Effect: Andromeda, their major new IP Anthem and stirring rumors of a new Dragon Age title.

After so many years at Bioware, I can only imagine this will be a huge change for Aaryn as well as the studio. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors. It’s also certainly interesting to see Casey Hudson returning to Bioware and taking over the role of GM, given that he left the studio in 2014.
