Dear Esther strolling onto Xbox One and PS4 next month

Indie developer The Chinese Room are gearing up to release their wildly popular title, Dear Esther, on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 20th. Launched on Steam back in 2012, the game was actually planned as a mod for Half-Life 2 until the company decided to make it a standalone project. Now, console players will have the opportunity to explore the mysteries of the gorgeous first-person story when Dear Esther: Landmark Edition hits the market.

Even though it has been four years since it’s original release, the game still looks amazing. The production team has posted some details on their page outlining several gameplay enhancements coming to the console versions as well as remastered audio and a commentary track featuring those who developed Dear Esther.

Additionally, a teaser trailer has been posted which you can check out below.

Dear Esther: Landmark Edition will launch on consoles on the 20th of September. Those that own it on Steam will receive the updated version for free! Nice!!
