Destiny 2 Rumored to be Heading to Saturn and PC

Sequel to the online shooter reportedly making some major changes

So Destiny 2 appears to be heading our way as early as next year, but what changes will be made to keep people playing, or to bring back old players. Or to entice new ones?

Well some of the answers may have been revealed in a leak detailed on Game Rampage. Describing the leak, information found by apparent reliable source Shinobi602, it goes into detail on new locations and the dilemmas posed in moving to a whole new game.

It is discussed that one of the main areas in the game will be Saturn (the one with the rings) and is rumoured to be a massive playspace, bigger than all of the current playspaces in Destiny combined. They also detail expanding on the different races and the possibility of new races being introduced.

There was also information relating to the new tech that will be running Destiny 2 and how it will not be limited by ‘last-gen’, ruling out a possibility of any Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 releases, which makes sense since Bungie dropped update and content support for the last-gen machines recently.

Whether Destiny will continue to be supported after the sequel’s release is being debated, according to the leak, variations or versions of temporary content drops maybe used, meaning that Destiny might get teasers of what the players over on Saturn are getting.

It is also rumoured that the franchise will be taking its first steps onto the PC platform.

All sounds promising, but for myself, I would like to see some in-game story content (as opposed to exploring Grimoire online) and a laid DLC plan. I still haven’t gone back to Destiny since House of Wolves, as being locked out of most of the game when the Taken King came out for the price they were charging just didn’t sit right with me and then Rise of Iron on top of that. Regardless of whether they are worth the money, having already spent £90 (base game and expansion pass) on release to then be expected to spend another £65 (Taken King and Iron First) to continue playing when all of the content is now available in one package for £50 (ish) just galls me. Which is a shame because I really enjoyed it.
