Gamers on Xbox One can currently play the Battlefield 1 “Play First” trial for ten hours with an EA Access membership. Unfortunately, a lot of that time is spent mashing the “B” button to make in-game notifications about your remaining trial time go away, and hoping you don’t die in the process.
Luckily, there happens to be a fix to stop the obnoxious pop-ups. Here’s a step-by-step video detailing the process.
If you can’t view the video, here’s what you need to do:
- From the home screen, scroll to the left and open the guide.
- Scroll down and select “Settings.”
- Next, select “All Settings.”
- Select “System.”
- Select “Console Info & Updates.”
- Select “Reset Console”.
- Select “Reset and Keep My Games & Apps“ – DO NOT select “Reset and Remove Everything.” Doing so will wipe all of your game and app data from the console.
- Once your Xbox restarts, you will have to sign back in to Xbox Live (and your wi-fi, if you’re connected to the Internet wirelessly), so it’s a good idea to have your password handy. You will also be prompted to recalibrate Kinect, if you have one connected.
The whole process takes only a few minutes and is well worth it, considering the amount of frustration caused by the trial pop-up bug on Xbox One.
Battlefield 1’s “Play First” trial is available on EA Access for Xbox One and Origin Access for PC. The ten-hour trial includes access to the “Storm of Steel” and “Through Mud and Blood” War Stories in the single player campaign, as well as four maps in Battlefield 1’s multiplayer.
Battlefield 1’s official release date is October 21st, but those who spend a few extra dollars for the Early Enlister Edition get access three-days early, on October 18th. For more details, visit the game’s official website.
