The MCU, or Marvel Cinematic Universe, has grown exponentially since its induction with the release of Iron Man in 2008. It now spans 14 films and 5 TV shows, with several more in various stages of production. The latest film, Doctor Strange, starred Benedict Cumberpatch as the Sorceror Supreme and released in theaters last year to critical applause, with enthusiastic reception from audiences worldwide, grossing over $650 million against a budget of $165 million.
(Spoilers from recent MCU films follow.) Now, after a strong implication from the mid-credits scene of Doctor Strange, the titular character has been confirmed to appear alongside Thor and Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok. According to this post on D23, or the Official Disney Fan Club, “…Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, the Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies both familiar and new.”
