This week Sports Interactive (SI) and Sega announced that Football Manager 2017 would be released for PC on Steam on November 4th. As a bonus and a great show of thanks from SI to the fans of the game they are offering a 5% discount for every Football Manager game you own from 2013, which could give you a total of 20% off the overall price.
“As a ‘thank-you’ to loyal fans of the series we’ve worked with our friends at Valve to offer a Steam-only discount of 5% off for every Football Manager game owned on PC, Mac or Linux dating back to Football Manager 2013. This means there’s a possible 20% available to fans who own the last 4 versions of the game!”
Additionally, if you pre-purchased Football Manager 2017 through Steam, you’ll also get a load of DLC for Football Manager Touch as well as some new challenges for the games “Challenge” mode.
For those of you not in the know however, Football Manager is an annual series of football management games (heavily implied from the title that one), but not American Football (or armoured Rugby) but actual football, played with a ball and your feet.
The game is seriously addictive for fans of the beautiful game (such as myself who has over 3,000 hours clocked since 2009, and that doesn’t even include the hours I’ve ploughed into the series since I first started playing it when it was formerly known as Championship Manager back in the 1999/2000 season) – but it’s such good fun and popular among players of the game that French international player Antoine Griezmann had to quell transfer rumours linking him to Chelsea after he was spotting looking at them on Football Manager 2016 a couple of months ago.
Football Manager 2017 is available for pre-purchase now on Steam for $49.99 (£34.99 / €54.99), not forgetting the “Loyalty Offer” of up to 20% off for returning players.
