Former PS4 exclusive ‘Rime’ confirmed for Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch

Rime

Rime, the beautiful looking adventure puzzler coming from Tequila Works, has had it’s fair share of up and downs when it comes to development. Announced as a PS4 exclusive way back in 2013, the promising title instantly shot up the lists of many gamer’s most anticipated with it’s breathtaking scenery and a feel that was reminiscent of the much loved PS2 classic, Ico.

It was all smooth sailing for Rime and Tequila Works or so it seemed. In early August of last year, the studio revealed that they had reacquired publishing rights for the game from Sony and had signed with two new companies to help bring the project to market. Although the reason for the split with Sony was never made clear, it opened the door for the possibility of Rime coming to other platforms.

Well, it’s now been confirmed that Rime will be releasing on Xbox One, PC and even Nintendo’s upcoming Switch as well as the PS4 as originally announced. A re-release trailer has been provided with a look at the game in action, courtesy of IGN. Check it out below:

Straight from Tequila Works:

“Rime is a single-player puzzle adventure about discovery, experienced through the eyes of a young boy who awakens on a mysterious island after shipwrecking off its coast. Players must navigate the island’s secrets by making use of light, sound, perspective and even time. Inspired by the rugged, sunbaked terrain of the Mediterranean coast, Rime paints its breathtaking world with a fusion of vibrant colors and moving musical undertones to set the stage for the deeply personal journey that awaits within.”

Rime is scheduled to launch this May on all platforms mentioned. Excited that Rime is no longer just for PS4 gamers? Thoughts on exclusives in general? Tell us in the comments or hit up the Forums.
