Gears of War 4’s Xbox One X enhancements detailed

Gears of War 4's Xbox One X enhancements
The definitive console experience: how the player chooses

Since E3 2017, we’ve known that Gears of War 4 was getting a visual bump for the Xbox One X when it released. Shortly before the launch of the console however, The Coalition has shared even more details on Gears of War 4‘s Xbox One X enhancements, with some surprising additions.

Here’s the new trailer showing off the improvements:

Gamers will be able to choose between two improved modes on the Xbox One X: one where resolution is preferred, displaying the game in full 4K (3840×2160 pixels) as well as adding Ultra High Quality textures and other visual improvements like Enhanced Light Shafts, Dynamic Shadows and more.

Performance mode however, allows Gears of War 4 to run at 60 frames-per-second at 1080p in Campaign and Horde, something previously only possible in multiplayer. Some of the visual improvements and higher-quality textures are also included in this rendering mode.

Personally, I think allowing gamers to choose between superior visuals or a superior framerate is a great idea and I hope this means more Xbox One X enhanced games follow suit. Regardless of how you choose to play, this update will be available to download for free when the Xbox One X launches on November 7th, 2017.
