Horizon: Zero Dawn patch 1.30 adds New Game+, face paint and more

Horizon: Zero Dawn patch 1.30
This new patch adds new modes, trophies and bug fixes

While The Frozen Wilds expansion may have been announced at E3 2017, Guerrilla Games isn’t done adding new content to the base game yet. Horizon: Zero Dawn patch 1.30 is now available to download and has been detailed by the PlayStation Blog. There’s quite a bit of new stuff for gamers to enjoy, from cosmetics to new trophies and modes. Additionally, there are some general bug fixes for various issues players may have encountered.

First up, the big addition: New Game+ is here! New Game+ allows players to carry over their level, skills and gear into a new playthrough. However, the level cap of 50 isn’t being raised. When playing New Game+, there are some new version of existing gear with additional customization slots available for purchase, though they are bound to be expensive.

On top of New Game+ comes a brand-new difficulty option: Ultra Hard. Ultra Hard spikes the difficulty up even further by limiting health regeneration, improving machine senses and more. Two new trophies have also been added, one for beating New Game+, the other for beating New Game+ on Ultra Hard.

There’s also some neat new customization options, as players can give Aloy a variety of face paint and tweak her Focus.

Finally, another handful of bugs and glitches have been fixed. Issues like progression problems and various crashes should no longer plague gamers.

Personally, I think it’s great Guerrilla Games has continued to provide patches for different issues as well as continue to add content to the game. I’ll definitely have to check out New Game+ and Ultra Hard before the Frozen Wilds expansion launches.
