However, the RGM recommendation of the week must go to This War of Mine: The Little Ones. Until late last year, I had never even heard of this game. Looking for new titles to play, a close friend recommended I pick it up. I’m most certainly glad I listened, as it is an experience unlike any other. You, the player, must care for a group of civilians during the Bosnian Civil War. You attempt to keep them alive, scrounging, bartering, stealing and perhaps even murdering for supplies.
I’ll never forget, their wrecked house completely snowed in, most of my survivors were sick. We needed medicine. I took the only healthy person left and used him to steal some drugs. Wasn’t too long after that though, that he began to fall into depression. Even though he had saved his comrades lives, he might have ended some other innocent person. It’s a game that makes you think, and there are difficult choices all around. It’s brutal, unrelenting, and at 70% off it’s well worth playing.
This War of Mine
In war, not everyone is a soldier. This War Of Mine: The Little Ones provides a gritty, dramatic and thought provoking experience of war from the perspective of a group of civilians that are trying to survive the ordeal. Even in war: kids are still kids. New to console comes the added storyline of children. Protect and take care of The Little Ones as they continue to live in the war torn landscape as only children can. Teach, educate and form emotional bonds as you fight to survive in this harsh world and prevail through this unique narrative. Features:
