New Mass Effect Gameplay released at NVIDIA CES event!

It sure is generous of Bioware to release some gameplay alongside the announcement of Mass Effect Andromeda‘s official release date. After that official gameplay trailer, Mass Effect fans were surely chomping at the bit to get some more time to see some additional gameplay. Well, Bioware has provided that, although the video’s on the shorter side.

Yep, that certainly looks like Mass Effect to me! This footage shows off some of the game’s menus, a couple sneak peeks at some of the worlds available to explore, and some great combat to finish it off. Another part of the video I noticed is what I believe to be the game’s “loading screens” which is the animation of the Tempest flying to the destination and then landing at said destination. This is a part of the video that may have been easily missed, but it feels like a great improvement over the previously static loading screens in past installments. The fact that the visuals are stunning during those non-loading screens certainly doesn’t hurt either.

The skill trees shown also seem right in line with the series as each skill and class have their many different levels and unique abilities. The difference with this game is that players will be able to change their class at will if they so choose, so there’s no need to fret if you regret your choice in character class.

Overall, the footage was less “flashy” than in the official gameplay trailer, but it certainly shows that Mass Effect is a game you NEED to pay attention to.

Mass Effect Andromeda comes out March 21st, 2017 and it will be available on PC, PlayStation 4/Pro and Xbox One.
