So there was a lot of information flying around about the Nintendo Switch. Are you going to get one? Let’s have a look at what is going to be available and how much it might cost you.
Hardware
First off, the console will be available in two variations. Though each retailer will most likely do their own deals, the units themselves with be available for $299.99/£279.99 on March 3rd.
Bundle 1: Nintendo Switch with Gray Joy-Con – $299.99/£279.99
Includes:

- Nintendo Switch Dock.
- Joy-Con (L) + (R) controllers in gray.
- Joy-Con Wrist Straps
- Joy-Con Grip
- High Speed HDMI cable
- Nintendo Switch AC adapter
This bundle includes the Nintendo Switch console and Nintendo Switch dock in black, and left and right Joy-Con controllers in a contrasting gray. It also includes all the extras you need to get started.
Bundle 2: Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Con – $299.99/£279.99
- Nintendo Switch console.
- Nintendo Switch Dock.
- Joy-Con (L) + (R) controllers in gray.
- Joy-Con Wrist Straps
- Joy-Con Grip
- High Speed HDMI cable
- Nintendo Switch AC adapter
This bundle includes the Nintendo Switch console and Nintendo Switch dock in black, with contrasting left and right Joy-Con controllers—one red, one blue. It also includes all the extras you need to get started.
There hasn’t been any information released around storage capabilities as yet and no indication that there will be different models with different memory sizes so it seems that these two are your only options.
Accessories
There are quite a few accessories that will be made available around the launch of the Nintendo Switch. We have detailed them below for you. Currently there are only U.S. RRP prices to go off of from the Nintendo site.
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller – $69.99
Take your game sessions up a notch with the Pro Controller. Includes motion controls, HD rumble, built-in amiibo functionality, and more.
Joy-Con Controllers – $79.99
Pick up an extra set (or two) of Joy-Con, the controllers that make new kinds of gaming possible. These include the new HD rumble which allows you to distinguish the feel of ice cubes in an empty glass followed by the glass being filled with water. Available in neon blue, neon red or gray.
L or R Joy-Con Controllers – $49.99
Add more players to compatible games with a left or right Joy-Con controller (sold separately). It makes more sense to buy a double pack, but buying one will allow you to add additional players to compatible games such as 1,2 Switch.
Joy-Con Charging Grip – $29.99
Combine the left and right Joy-Con into one larger controller with this handy grip. It also lets you keep playing while you’re charging your Joy-Con, so you don’t have to miss a minute. Knowing how essential the play and charge kits are for my Xboxes, these will be a must buy.
Nintendo Switch Dock Set – $89.99
Includes a Nintendo Switch Dock, Nintendo Switch AC adapter, and an HDMI cable. (Note that one of each of these items are included with each Nintendo Switch system.)
If you’d like to use your Nintendo Switch with multiple TVs in the house, this set provides everything you need to dock your system and play in TV mode.
Joy-Con Wheel (set of 2) – $14.99
What would a Nintendo console be without a good ol’ plastic attachment. Ideal for Mario Kart 8: Deluxe. Insert a Joy-Con into this accessory to feel like you’re behind the wheel in your favorite racing game.
Joy-Con controllers not included.
So there you have it, a range of new accessories for you to consider when deciding what to get with your Nintendo Switch. Given the shortage of stock I would recommend preordering these when you can so you’re not disappointed come launch day.
