Nintendo Switch Preorders are Selling Out All Over

Have you got yours ordered?

Switch Preorders

Nintendo may well have scored an early win with the Nintendo Switch. Reports are coming in that Switch Preorders are selling out in many of the large retailers around the world.

Metro have reported that two of the biggest retailers have sold through their allocation of their allocated stock. Amazon have reported that both their UK and US sites have completely sold out of their initial stock. Although they are still taking orders Amazon commented that “orders will be fulfilled in the order they are placed as soon as we receive further stock.”

On top of this GameStop have sold through their 500,000 allocated units of stock and have preordered an impressive 1.2 million units of software. Not bad going to say that there aren’t any games out eh? It is reported that GameStop has over a quarter of a million people on the waiting list for a Switch already. BestBuy and Walmart are also noted to have sold out of their allocations.

UK retailer GAME is still taking preorders on both available versions of the Switch (Gray Joy-Con and Neon Joy-Con). Although, according to their small print, they may not be able to guarantee stock. This is less of a concern from GAME, given they are the largest (by quite a way) specialist retailer, they will receive the largest allocation of stock (speaking from experience). I wouldn’t wait if you are considering preordering in the UK, but I would feel more confident in preordering and getting one on launch.

Perhaps it might be worth importing from the UK? The Switch is region free remember.

Nintendo had promised two million Nintendo Switch units within the first month of the consoles release and they certainly seem on track to succeed with this. I am sure they will be working as much as they can to get more units out (they can only make so many).

If you’re struggling to get a Switch, don’t forget we’re giving away a Switch in our huge competition.
