Patrick Wilson (Watchmen, The Conjuring) cast as Aquaman Villain Ocean Master

It seems that the full assembly of the cast of Watchmen in the DCEU has gotten one step closer. First it was Carla Gugino in Man of Steel, Jeffrey Dean Morgan in BvS, Billy Crudup in The Flash, and now Nite Owl himself will join the party. Unlike those other castings, Zack Snyder didn’t need to recommend Wilson, because he had another directing buddy, James Wan (worked with Wilson on Conjuring 1&2, Insidious 1&2) to recruit him.

It has just been confirmed that Patrick Wilson will be playing Ocean Master in the 2018 standalone Aquaman opposite lead Jason Mamoa. It’s not clearly defined what the story for Aquaman will be like, but it’s clear that with a director like Wan and an antagonist like Ocean Master, some crazy visuals will be on display.

Comic book movie fans will get their first look at Mamoa’s Aquaman in the 2017 Justice League movie, as well as an introduction to Willem Dafoe’s Vulko character.

Aquaman is directed by James Wan and is currently slated for release on October 5th, 2018, with the current stars confirmed for the movie being Jason Mamoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, and now Patrick Wilson.
