Rainbow Six Siege Popularity Soars

Rainbow Six Siege has seen an increase in popularity, according to information given to IGN from publisher Ubisoft. Daily active users have increased by 40% and the game is more popular now than when it first launched back in December 2015. This comes off the heels of last week’s content release, Skull Rain.

Developer Ubisoft Montreal has recently added in an anti-cheat system called “Battle-Eye”. Since doing this, they have banned thousands of players who have been caught cheating in the game.  Rainbow Six Siege was previously criticized by players for it’s problem with cheaters but has seen a resurgence thanks to “Battle Eye”, Skull Rain, and recent discounted sale prices.

What are your thoughts on the increased popularity of Rainbow Six Siege? Has the “Battle-Eye” system improved the cheating epidemic? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or over in the RGM forums.
