One of the most exciting announcements last year, for many gamers, was the official acknowledgement by Rockstar that Red Dead Redemption 2 was in development. A handful of teasing images were released on Twitter with a vague release date of Fall 2017, as well as a brief teaser trailer, showcasing the wild, open world with a bit of narration. Aside from that however, fans have been fairly starved for new information of any sort. If this listing is accurate, we may now have a release date to look forward to. UK retailer Littlewoods has the game listed here for release on October 2, 2017.
There are a few things to look at here. First, it seems a tad bit odd any retailer would have the release date for such a high-profile game this far out when there has been no official announcement. Now, October definitely fits for a Fall release, not to mention the fact that if this is a placeholder date then it is oddly specific. Then again, even if that does turn out to be the official release date, the game could still get delayed. Grand Theft Auto 5 was originally delayed several months for further polish, and the Xbox One/PS4 ports were delayed multiple times to ensure the best game possible was delivered.
