Earlier today, Blizzard announced that StarCraft: Remastered is officially in development. This is a full remaster of the original StarCraft and its expansion Brood War. Modern resolutions including full 4K are supported and the graphics as a whole have been improved. However, the classic art style is not being compromised and the gameplay has not been altered.

As a fan of StarCraft, I think this is a great way to make sure newcomers to the franchise experience what kicked things off. While no exact date has been provided as-yet, it is currently planned to release sometime in mid-2017. Hopefully they’ll give us a firm release date and price fairly soon.
