The newest Sundered trailer looks incredible

Thunder Lotus Games have released a second trailer for their upcoming platform-game, Sundered, and it looks absolutely off the chain! A blog post on the PlayStation website also gave some insight into the game, but here are the main points of it:

  • The Embrace trailer introduces the third region in the game, the Eschaton City, and shows off the corruption aspect of the game.
  • Re: procedural design: Though the overall structure of the world is set in stone, subsections take a random sampling of preset rooms and assemble them to create a different flow every time, similar to Diablo 2.
  • Re: random encounters: The monster spawns are dynamic as well, creating an unpredicatable experience we feel is very effective in games like Left 4 Dead.
  • Re: skill tree and upgrades: Throughout exploration and combat, you collect Shards, and when you die, you respawn in the Hub. Here lies the Skill Tree, filled with Upgrades, Perks and the Metroidvania-style Abilities.
  • Re: Resist or Embrace: The possibility of corrupting these Abilities to gain great power at the cost of your humanity is the core conflict of the game, having repercussions on the game mechanics, story, and ending.

So without further ado, here is the second official Sundered Trailer – Embrace.

The more I see of Sundered, the more I like – the art style, the fast-paced action, the overall story, it all looks absolutely fantastic and I cannot wait for it to be released in 2017.
