This week’s ‘The Division’ update is in!

Another weeks means another update to Tom Clancy’s: The Division.

We get a rather vague but encouraging dash of details about update 1.2 which will be heading to the game in the near future, a brief run down of the changes made to the game in the past 7 days, and you can even tune into The Division’s podcast where they speak with the lead Technical Director about the current issues with the game and what is being done to fix them.

Here are all the details, including the podcast conducted with the Technical Director of The Division:

Greetings Agents!

A lot has happened in the past week, and all of it had to do with our team’s wish to constantly improve the experience for all of you!

We’ve deployed some more hotfixes to fix Protection from Elites and the remainder of the Rehabilitated bug for instance.

An article was also posted to show how we’re adopting a stronger stance against cheating and bug exploiting which was followed up with a cheating ban wave, which has seemed to improve the experience in the Dark Zone!

Our work of course doesn’t stop there, as we will continue to improve the game and your experience.

For everything we’ve discussed in this morning’s State of the Game livestream, check out the archive here!

We told you last week that we’d be switching to a weekly Thursday maintenance instead of a Tuesday, and that is still the plan. However, exceptionally we decided to perform this week’s maintenance on a Wednesday because Thursday is a bank holiday in Sweden, and while some of our hardcore devs will be in working on things, we prefer performing the maintenance when everybody’s available. It will be back on Thursday again next week.

Aside from cheating, the team is now also looking at going after our in-game chat spammers. This as well has affected the player experience, and we’re keen on fixing it.

A fix for the Daily Missions was also implemented today, which should resolve issues with missing Daily Missions.

The team has now also compensated players who were affected by the Backpack or Missing Character issue. As a reminder, players who were affected by this should find 500 Phoenix Credits and 10 of each High-End Materials at the Rewards Claim Vendor at the back of the Base of Operations.

We’ve seen a growing discussion in our community about our server infrastructure. To shed more light on this topic, we also went ahead and recorded a Podcast with our Technical Director Anders Holmquist to talk about our online infrastructure as well as our anti-cheat. Catch all that techie goodness here.

LOOKING FORWARD

Update 1.2 is coming along nicely and we can’t wait to share everything that will be coming your way. The update is currently going through extensive QA testing to make sure we provide the best possible experience.

We realize you all want to hear more about what is planned for this update, and we will start releasing more info on the update in the next weeks.

As a sneak peek: we will be bringing significant improvements in how the loot system works! This includes changes on quantity and quality of items received for all types of End-Game activities.

For more on these changes, make sure to watch our talk with Quentin Correggi in the State of the Game livestream from this morning!
