Titanfall 2 Multiplayer Technical Test

Announced earlier this week, Titanfall 2 will be using Multiplay to host multiplayer matches. Multiplay’s server platform is described as an “auto-scaling hybrid-cloud technology”.

So what does this actually mean? This means that Titanfall 2 multiplayer will be hosted on dedicated servers from Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google, and other Cloud server providers globally.

This potentially means better connectivity for all players around the world. Many PC gamers may recognize the company as they currently host over 9000 servers for popular games like:

  • Battlefield 3, 4, Hard Line
  • Counter-Strike Source, Global Offensive, Condition Zero
  • Minecraft and more

Respawn Entertainment recognizes that multiplayer requires low latency and high uptime for all players on all platforms. Moving from a strictly Microsoft Azure hosted environment to Multiplay’s server environment will be a true test to the developer’s netcode and Multiplay’s ability to provide stable and scalable infrastructure in a timely manner.

That is why there will be a Titanfall 2 Multiplayer Technical Test before launch. If you would like to know more about this test and possibly participate in it, be sure to sign up here.
