Total War: Three Kingdoms is the next big historical title for the series

Total War: Three Kingdoms
China at war

Total War has seen multiple announcements over the last few months and they just aren’t stopping, as the next big historical title has just been announced. Total War: Three Kingdoms takes the series into 190 C.E. China, ravaged by war.

Take a look at the reveal trailer here:

Here’s the synopsis:

It is 190CE and China is in turmoil. The Han Dynasty crumbles before the child-emperor, who is a mere puppet for the tyrant Dong Zhuo. The brutal and oppressive regime’s power grows as the empire slips further into anarchy. Yet hope blossoms in the form of three heroes, sworn to brotherhood in the face of calamity. Warlords of great families follow suit, forming a fragile coalition in a bid to challenge Dong Zhuo’s remorseless rule. The future of China will be shaped by their hands, but personal ambition threatens their already crumbling alliance.

Very exciting stuff! Between this and the smaller game, Total War Saga: Thrones of Brittania, historical fans will have plenty of stuff to enjoy over 2018. Fans of the fantastical Warhammer entries can look forward to the upcoming Tomb Kings DLC.

Total War: Three Kingdoms is slated to release in Fall 2018. The Steam webpage is already up, though the system requirements have not yet been posted. We’ll keep you updated on any major news as it is released.
