More Ubisoft Games Coming to Nintendo Switch

The power of partnership

For those looking of for more proof of Ubisoft’s commitment to the Nintendo Switch, look no further.

Ubisoft GamesIn an announcement broken by Gamespot earlier today, Ubsioft will be sending Rayman Legends and Steep to the Nintendo Switch.

Steep was featured in a video for the Switch during its presentation last night in Japan and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has been a vocal proponent of a partnership with the new Nintendo console since November of 2016.

It seems that at least initially Nintendo is doing its best to keep a strong third-party lineup ready for the Switch after the failure to do so in the Wii U era. According to Nintendo during their presentation last night, the Switch currently has 80 games in development from third-party studios.

The Nintendo Switch hits stores on 3/3/2017 and is priced at $299 in the United States. Despite what was a terrible press conference and a weak launch lineup the Nintendo Switch did have standouts from its presentation mostly, Super Mario Odyssey and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Amazon and Best Buy have already sold out of the Switch in stores so the console is flying off the shelves already. It is unclear at this time if more consoles will be made available before the release.

Ubisoft’s commitment to the Switch can mean a great partnership for Nintendo especially if original content is created for the console. EA and SEGA have announced similar partnerships with both the newest Sonic and FIFA coming to the Switch as well.

At this time the release dates for Rayman Legends and Steep on Switch have not been announced.
