Do you remember earlier this year when an image of Destiny’s upcoming DLC plans was leaked? The photo showed that after the House of Wolves’s release in May that we would not see any new DLC until September 2015.
The DLC slated for the September 2015 release was titled “Comet: Plague of Darkness” and was shown in a bigger image and without an episode tag like the other DLC and made it clearly look like Destiny’s first expansion pack.
The leaked material showed it would included 12 new story missions, one new raid, four new strikes, size new crucible maps, two new weapon types and three new subclasses.
Earlier this month Bungie trademarked a new logo called “The Taken King” the trademark was filed by the same lawyers who also trademarked “House of Wolves” and “The Dark Below”. Many are now speculating that this new logo is the renamed previously leaked “Comet: Plague of Darkness”.
Whilst others are now speculating that this is the logo for a surprise upcoming new raid.
Seeing as the Season Pass for Destiny ended with “House of Wolves” a lot of fans are wondering are we going to be left in the lurch until September? After announcing that the “House of Wolves” would not feature a raid but instead a new co-op mode “The Prison of Elders” Bungie announced that they would be creating a new raid for release in the coming year.
In true Destiny style we are left with more questions than answers, is “The Taken King” the new raid or is it the “first expansion pack”? and now that the season pass has ended will players be forking out more money for a raid?
So what do you think? Is this a new raid or just some DLC being renamed for legal purposes and if it is a raid will you be paying for it? Let us know in the comments Guardians!
