Stop stressing – Final Fantasy 7 is only timed, not exclusive!

Well, it would seem that the newest trend making the rounds in the gaming industry is this new ‘timed exclusive’ label.

One of the most recent additions to this new trend is the remake of Final Fantasy VII.

Announced at Sony’s E3 press conference earlier this month was the revelation that Final Fantasy VII is being remade for current gen gaming.FF7logo

The announcement was extremely clear, stating that you can ‘Play it first’ on PlayStation 4, not ‘Play it Only’. This somehow has been interpreted that the remake will be a PlayStation 4 only and therefore has been causing a bit of an uproar in the gaming community.

So what we do know is Final Fantasy VII is not a PlayStation exclusive and that you will be able to play it elsewhere, what we don’t know is the timing that surrounds that. It could be a month; it could be 12 months, we will be sure to update you once more details are revealed.

It could actually be quite some time before it even hits the PlayStation 4 as it is, given the fact that Final Fantasy XV was announced in 2006 and is still in production, so there is absolutely no need for anyone to spend time worrying about early access just yet as actual ‘access’ to the game could be a year or two, if not more, away still.
