If you digitally pre-loaded Halo 5: Guardians on your Xbox One you may want to read this post

If you have digitally pre-ordered Halo 5: Guardians on your Xbox One before September 21 and do not use ‘instant on’ power mode, then it is possible that your file did not download correctly. You may have what is called a “stub file” for the title, which is simply a placeholder file.

There is pretty simple way to check your pre-loaded file, simply go to My Games & Apps from the Xbox One dashboard, then sort your game collection by selecting Installed/Sort by size.

  • If your Halo 5: Guardians game size is greater than 40 GB, you’ve got the correct version, and you’re ready to download the necessary updates when they become available.
  • If your Halo 5: Guardians game size is less than 40 GB, you’ve got an incorrect stub file, and will need to delete that version and reinstall the game.

Should you need further assistance with reinstalling your file be sure to check the Xbox One support page.

Thanks for the heads up Halo Waypoint!
