Syberia 3 : cult adventure game franchise back in December

French publisher Microids, after more than 10 years since the last iteration, will release Syberia 3 on December 1st 2016, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

For those that are unaware of what Syberia is, it is a classic point-and-click adventure game following the adventures of an American lawyer called Kate Walker, through a series of multiple mysterious European settings, where history and mystery are intertwined.

To present what the game will look like, the publisher has release a behind-the-scenes video look of what the game is about.

For those who like that type of game and are curious to play the first 2 games, there are available on Steam here for the first game, here for the second one, or here for a bundle with the two games included.

If you would like to just have a quick summary of what happened, you can always watch the video below, which is the official “road to Syberia 3″ summary from the publisher.

This type of game is really making a resurgence recently, with the re-release of Double Fine classic games already done and coming (like Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle), so to see another company going back to its roots like this is quite a happy surprise.

Did you, like me, spent countless hours playing classics like Gabriel Knight, Phantasmagoria and Myst back in the days? Did you try the recent iterations of those games like The Witness? Are you happy this style of game is making a comeback? Let us know in the comments and forums.
