‘For Honor’ Viking E3 2016 Teaser Trailer

Here is a sneak peak at the Viking ‘For Honor’ E3 teaser trailer – they’re coming!

For Honor is “hack and slash” fighting game yet to be released by Ubisoft. According to the Ubiblog; imagine:

“The sound of shouting and clashing metal filling the air. Fallen enemies and allies alike litter the battlefield. Every encounter is a brutal, tactical fight to the death. Kill or be killed. For Honor puts a blade in your hand like no game ever has before and sets you loose in a medieval battle. This is a game for everyone who grew up dreaming of knights and epic melee battles. Step into the boots of some of history’s fiercest combatants – the loyal Knights (the Legions), the fierce Vikings (the Warborn) and the brutally efficient Samurai (the Chosen)”.

In the games ‘art of battle’ system you’ll have the option of a 3rd person battle mode and an individual dueling mode. The game takes a realistic view of combat if you attack to the left and your opponent is blocking, it’ll block; however if you attack from the right and above you’ll definitely get a hit in – sounds pretty straight forward right? Like in real combat situations you’ll have to anticipate your opponent’s next move otherwise you’ll risk being out of the fight faster than you think.

According to Jason Vandenberghe ‘For Honor’ is “close-quarters melee combat. ‘Shooter with swords’ is something we’ve been throwing around, and it’s pretty accurate. People have tried to call it a MOBA, but it’s not really a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena). It seems a little like one when you look at it, but it doesn’t play that way at all. I think what’s going to happen is we’re going to release the game and then our audience is going to name it. I think they will be the ones to really name that genre.”

I think this game will be interesting; however I wonder if it will be like an improved version of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare with a better game engine, better graphics, faction choices and better battle system? In all honesty we’ll find out soon enough at the E3’s ‘For Honor’ introduction on June 14th 2016.
