Xbox Fitness released back in 2013 with the launch of the Xbox One is now sadly being shut down. Today Microsoft has stated that the service is being discontinued on their website.
Xbox Fitness has been removed from the Xbox Store as of yesterday June 27th 2016, but people who are existing users can continue to use the service until June 30th 2017. There were two dozen workouts for Xbox Fitness.
Microsoft have given a time line for what will happen to your content:
On December 16th, 2016 we will be removing our “Free with gold” offer. Until then Gold members will still be able to access and play the 30+ workouts available for streaming via this offer for free.
On July 1st, 2017 Xbox Fitness will no longer be available for play or download, this also includes purchased content too.
Xbox Fitness community manager Erica Bell, issued the following statement:
“While our team is saddened by this news, we couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished in the past two and a half years,” Xbox Fitness community manager Erica Bell said. “We know that many of you have used Xbox Fitness to begin your fitness journey, to supplement it, or as a way to redefine your own fitness story. We’re glad we could be a part of the journey.”
