Rainbow Six Siege Season 3 Anti-Cheat Update

Ubisoft just announced “Operation Skull Rain” for Rainbow Six Siege. “Operation Skull Rain” hits Xbox, PlayStation and PC August 2nd. Like the previous Expansions, “Operation Skull Rain” adds two new Operators: Caveira and Capitão. These operators are from Brazil’s Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais or BOPE. For season pass owners these operators will be available instantly and seven days early. Along with these additions are some new anti-cheat measures.

Xavier Marquis, Creative Director of Rainbow Six Siege, said this about the update:

“Having come a long way in the past months, when we sat down to conceptualize season 3 we had one goal in mind: longevity,”

Ubisoft added some changes to the health program. These changes target animation clipping, exploitable glitches and a new anti-cheat system called BattlEye. BattlEye prevents players from starting the game up when cheats are detected. Skull Rain being built around BattlEye features some more major fixes including an improved kill cam and dynamic clipping for skinned object. Now your shield won’t be on the other side of the wall.

Considering the number of glitches and Rainbow Six Siege’s large player base this fixes were necessary, even if they’re a little late. So who’s excited for Skull Rain? Do you like the bug fixes or too little too late? Let us know in the comments and forums.
