T-Mobile to thank customers with free data and more to play Pokémon Go

To say that Pokémon Go has been a run away success with for the house of “N” would be a huge understatement.

With a reported 21 million active daily users in the US alone Pokémon Go is definitely leaving an impression on hardcore and casual fans but its even appearing to be pulling in non Pokémon fans who are simply enjoying the experience. So with this in mind it’s no surprise that mega corporations and small business alike are also looking to get in on the Pokémon Go craze.

T-mobile is one of the largest mobile carriers in the U.S. and they just announced that on next week’s T-Mobile Tuesday the Un-Carrier will be thanking customers with free unlimited data for Pokémon Go.

On July 19th, as part of next week’s T-Mobile Tuesdays, the Un-carrier will give customers great ways to take their Pokémon Go skillz to a whole new level”, according to a company press release.

This will include…

  • Free, unlimited data on Pokémon Go, so it won’t touch your high-speed data—for a full year!
  • Free Lyft rides up to $15 to get to a new PokéStop or Gym
  • Free Wendy’s Frosty to fuel up for your hunting trip
  • 50% off select accessories – including portable power packs and chargers at T-Mobile stores – so you can keep on playing for hours

In addition, 250 people will each win $100 in PokéCoins, and five people will win a Pokémon Go hunting trip anywhere in the United States for themselves and a guest!

“This is what T-Mobile Tuesday is all about – thanking customers with hot, new, totally free gifts every week, and right now, nothing is hotter than Pokémon Go!”, says John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile.

The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Pokémon Go isn’t eating into users data plans but it is cool to see T-Mobile at least trying to put its customers at ease a bit more, while also adding in other features for customers to enjoy as they catch those rare Pokémon around town.
