CD Projekt Red are unquestionably good at what they do. With The Witcher trilogy making waves for years and setting benchmarks for gameplay, graphics and story-telling, it would seem that they cannot do much wrong. Their latest venture however, which was teased 3 years ago, is Cyberpunk 2077, and that as well looks absolutely incredible – hopefully they can translate their skills in a fantasy setting to a sci-fi setting.
Not an incredible amount is known so far about Cyberpunk 2077, but a job advert on the official CD Project Red website for a Vehicle Gameplay Programmer does strongly suggest that it will involve cars. Possibly both driving and flying. This is unless The Witcher 3 is about to have a crazy piece of DLC…
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that this will be a feature in the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, and the other things that are known about the game, are that it will be a game for mature gamers, it will be heavily influenced by Blade Runner, non-linear, it will be based on the “pen & paper system” by Mike Pondsmith – who is also working on the game, there will be multiple character classes and promises to “Set new standard in the futuristic RPG genre with an exceptional gaming experience”.
There isn’t a release date set as yet for Cyberpunk 2077, other than the one at the end of the teaser trailer stating that it will be coming “When it’s ready”. At a guess so far, the game will be available cross-platform on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – but this is not confirmed by any means.
