A couple of months after No Man’s Sky Director, Sean Murray was on the receiving end of death threats for announcing the game’s delay, No Man’s Sky release date on PC is now only a few days away, with a worldwide release date on PC of August 12th.
No Man’s Sky had been subjected to various delays and a drip-feed of information since its initial reveal all the way back in 2014, but Sean Murray has taken to Twitter to finally announce the PC Release date.
PC NMS release will now be global and will be August 12th worldwide. It’s so important we get it right and make the best version we can

There are reasons we have to be tight lipped at times. I’m sorry for the confusion caused 🙁

We think a global release is best for everyone on PC. Retail forces us to be staggered on PS4

To be fair with the debacle that was the Batman: Arkham Knight release on PC last year, the delay for the PC version of No Man’s Sky (even if by a few days) should be music to gamers ears, that the developers are taking the PC version just as seriously as the PlayStation 4 version, and want to make sure it’s as good as it can be from day one.
