If you’re a fan of strategy RTS games like Age of Empires or The Settlers, then chances are you will be a fan of upcoming strategy game – Northgard.
The description of the game from developers, Shiro Games, makes it sound like you’ll be playing through an old Norse story, and that appeals to me.
“After years of tireless explorations, brave Vikings have discovered a new land filled with mystery, danger and riches: Northgard.
The boldest Northmen have set sail to explore and conquer these new shores, bring fame to their Clan and write history through conquest, trading, or devotion to the Gods.
That is, if they can survive the dire wolves and undead warriors roaming the land, befriend or defeat the giants, and survive the harshest winters ever witnessed in the North.”
It also has a certain cartoony look to it without looking like it’ll be childish, and again, that kind of animation really appeals to me. I’ve already added it to my Steam Wishlist, liked them on Facebook and followed them on Twitter and will be eagerly anticipating further news on this title as it comes out.
There is currently no release date more specific than 2016 for Northgard, and no price available as yet, but I’m sure that information can’t be too far away now. Something that has surprised me is that it seems to have slipped under the radar to some degree, when from the look of it so far, it looks to be a great title.
