Last night Overwatch was subject to a massive DDOS (Direct Denial of Service) attack by online hacking group, @PoodleCorp. PoodleCorp you may remember ruined a Saturday afternoon for gamers around the world a few weeks ago by taking down Pokemon GO and they promised further attacks then, and they have duly delivered. @BlizzardCS tweeted about the attack…
We are currently monitoring a DDOS attack against network providers which is affecting latency/connections to our games.

And so did PoodleCorp…

Overwatch came back online after a couple of hours, however PoodleCorp, in particular Gh0stPoodle wasn’t done for the night, with League of Legends next in their firing line.

No other updates were particularly forthcoming after this, apart from one last ominous tweet from PoodleCorp…
Switching attack to another gaming network soon

So PoodleCorp took down Pokemon GO, Overwatch and League of Legends recently, with “another gaming network soon” to come, oh joy!
What do you make of PoodleCorp’s attacks on our beloved world of gaming? Is it just disruption for disruption-sake? Is there a great goal? Let us know what you think in the comments below or in the RGM Forums.
