CD Projekt RED has confirmed that they will be focusing their development team on Gwent and Cyberpunk 2077 instead of using resources to implement a HDR or upscaled 4K patch for PlayStation 4 Pro. This was confirmed via Eurogamer after rumors were circling around on reddit. Here is an official statement from CD Projekt RED:
“Since we want to fully focus on Cyberpunk 2077 and Gwent, and converting The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from a full HD game into a 4K one would be too much of a time and resource-consuming process, we decided not to release an edition of Wild Hunt supporting the new features of PlayStation Pro,”
The Witcher 3 is an already gorgeous looking game and I understand why the developer would rather focus on their new titles instead of using resources to update a game that’s been out for a couple of years already.
