So remember at E3, there was a trailer for the new Hideo Kojima game – Death Stranding? Rings a bell but not massively? What if I said, do you remember the trailer at E3 for the game with a naked Norman Reedus (Daryl in The Walking Dead for anyone who doesn’t know…) holding a baby on a beach and things being a bit of an environmental cluster f…problem. Yeah you remember. Check out the trailer below.
Well at the time most people were confused to say the least. And now thankfully the main man himself, Mr Metal Gear…erm Mr Former Metal Gear himself, has teased out some new information regarding the most enigmatic game announced at E3 2016 at the Tokyo Game Show.
Death Stranding has a…perhaps unconventional inspiration behind it, with Kojima saying that whales and dolphins who on occasion get stranded on the beach were the inspiration. So yeah, maybe Ecco the Dolphin having a similar inspiration? But that would just be a guess… Kojima did say
“The title is about something from another world stranded on our world.”
So unless he’s being as enigmatic as his trailer, it could point to the game being about aliens! Being stranded on the beach! Without any sun-screen! And too many fish… but again, that would just be a guess.
However something that was confirmed was that it will be an open world action game and have online co-op. Also a game engine has been decided on, so development will start to kick on now, so hopefully we’ll see more in the coming months.
