There’s a New Gameplay Video of Yooka-Laylee

Nearly 30 minutes of old-school platforming goodness

Who remembers Banjo Kazooie? That amazing duo that shot to fame during the Nintendo 64’s glory days?

Well despite the fact that you can currently get an N64 emulator on the Xbox One, there’s a spiritual successor doing the rounds and if haven’t checked Yooka-Laylee out yet, now is the perfect opportunity with this new gameplay trailer. I can almost hear the sound of the Jinzo’s and Gruntilda’s cackling. Watching it is certainly nostalgia inducing.

Speaking with Playtonic developers at EGX, Playstation Access have posted the gameplay and developer commentary video on their YouTube channel, which is doing the rounds on Reddit.

It’s exciting to see a classic platform make a comeback and with the Crash Bandicoot reboots for PlayStation 4 announced at E3, could we be about to see a return for the neglected genre?

Yooka-Laylee is currently scheduled for release in Spring 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC and Mac.

What do you think of Yooka-Laylee? Is it too much like Banjo-Kazooie? Let us know what you think in the comments below or on the RGM Forums.
