AMC’s The Walking Dead Renewed for Eighth Season

The unstoppable behemoth that is The Walking Dead just keeps rolling on and certainly shows no signs of slowing anytime soon. AMC have announced on their blog that the mega-popular zombie series is returning for an eighth season to air in 2017 beginning with the 100th episode.

The news comes before the much anticipated seventh season has even premiered which is a sure sign that AMC have a whole lot of faith that the show can keep viewers coming back for more and more drama as Rick and Co. fight off the dead and the living. Season six finished on a pretty big cliffhanger as Negan claimed the life of a main character. The question is, which one? Apparently, fans will find out the bad news when the first episode airs on October 23rd.

Eeny, meeny, miny, more,” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC. “What a joy to partner with Robert Kirkman, Scott M. Gimple and some of the hardest-working people in television to bring The Walking Dead to the fans. And, most important, thanks to those fans for breathing life into this remarkable series right along with us.
