If you’re a Harry Potter fan, 2016 has been your resurgence. There’s been a novelization of The Cursed Child, The Cursed Child play, the wonderful illustrated release of The Chamber of Secrets, and biggest of all, the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them film is releasing. On top of all of this, we’ve received an insane announcement: that’s only the first film in a new series of five. This was announced on Twitter:

The full plot of these films is currently unknown, but it’s much bigger than we realize. Rowling herself said this:
I think, when you realise what story we’re *really* telling, you’ll understand that it can’t possibly fit in one movie! https://t.co/xV5vYwCDdr

The original book was much too short to allow for five movies. I don’t think we have another Hobbit on our hands, though. Rowling inplies that the story they’re telling isn’t the one we think it is (the story of the book).
