The world of Torment: Tides of Numenera

A new video presents the breathing living world of this anticipated RPG

inXile, the developers of the highly anticipated Kickstarter project Torment: Tides of Numenera, revealed a video on their official Youtube channel presenting the timeline and different regions of the world.

The story takes place 1 billion years in the future.  The world is full with technologies, and civilizations are built around machines that are called numenera, considered remnants of the past.  They can reshape the land, modify your body, all in order to survive.  The world is full of different races, where highly technological machines are combined with magical aspects, where trans-dimensional alter-egos and visitors from other universes are combined.  Some of the regions are also presented in the video, going from country sidelines to a city built of crystals, and inhabited by people of light and vibrations.

It seems very diverse and complex.  The game, considered a thematic successor of Planescape: Torment, is very promising, and is a great reminder of the old PC RPGs like Baldur’s Gate.  The game is scheduled to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on Q1 2017.
