Bethesda Looking into Issues with Dishonored 2 for PC

He stopped time and then time never started again...

I think it’s probably every game developers nightmare: you put all your effort into a game; the blood, the sweat, the tears…the binary (?!), for the game to be unplayable for some of your customers.

Alas, this seems to be the case for PC gamers trying to play Bethesda’s newly released epic Dishonored 2. Reports are coming in that the game is not performing well; crashing at the title screen and huge frame rate issues. The good news? Bethesda know about it and are looking into it. Replying to some exasperated games on Twitter, Harvey Smith, co-creative director at developer Arkane Studios, confirmed their support:

Of course, this sort of thing is never ideal. It does happen though, in any walk of life, there is always the possibility that something will break or not work. Especially if you consider how convoluted PC gaming is, so many different gaming setups with different specifications all running different software and settings that may affect performances of things like games. It is frustrating, especially if you have been looking forward to something for such a long time. Bethesda are looking into it though, so hopefully it won’t be long before PC gamers can enjoy it fully.

This is probably why the console versions of the game, at least, received a 9GB patch on release.
