Have you ever played a game so scary you’ve had an accidental BM? Have you ever been so spooked by something you’ve been playing, that you ended up touching cloth? If so then Red Barrels game studios, the developers and publishers behind Outlast and next year’s Outlast 2 have you covered – both figuratively and literally – with their Kickstarter project for Underscares. Check out their promotional trailer below.
Before you groan with a grin and say “Yeah, yeah very funny.” let me stop you there and direct you straight to the Kickstarter page which is looking for CA$40,000 (and at the time of writing has CA$12,873 already pledged) and tell you that this is absolutely legitimate, even if it is very tongue-in-cheek. With opening line “You shat, we listened. Introducing Underscares, the Outlast 2 companion diaper. Because when you’re scared, #2 can become problem #1.”
Red Barrels insist that “Underscares are 100% real and inspired by the Outlast community.” even answering this again in the FAQs, and for a CA$55 or CA$75 you can get the Basic (former) or Deluxe (latter) Underscares as well as a copy of Outlast 2 on Steam (Steam is only available because they are unable to generate keys for PS4 or Xbox One).
