Passenger Trailer #2 released

Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence together on-screen may turn out to be a match made in heaven. Their first film together also happens to take place in deep space, so it seems only fitting.

This latest trailer shows off the plot of how Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence wake up out of their cryo-sleep ninety years too early. Upon waking up, they start exploring the station they’re on and see some things that they shouldn’t have. Although the trailer is on the shorter side, it’s able to show Michael Sheen’s android bartender character (who HAS to be a bad guy) as well as a couple other big actors that I had no idea would be present in this film (it’s always good to see Laurence Fishburne).

This trailer is certainly story-heavy as it somewhat displays the direction of the story as a whole: they wake up, they kill time, they find weird stuff, and then intense-looking moments. Thankfully, it doesn’t show much more than that (although I have NO idea what Sheen’s character was doing when he started knocking those drinks over), as the trailer was on the verge of spoiling some major moments.

This trailer, to me, was a little TOO story heavy. I appreciate when movies go for showing off footage out-of-sequence so that even after I watch the trailer, I have no idea what the story is going to be like. If this were a video game, I’d say that this was a Story trailer: lets you know what the movie is about and gives you a decent idea on how the plot will progress with a couple action shots in-between.

Although I believe they showed a bit too much, Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence look great on-screen together and the unique setting should help Passengers distinguish itself from other recent sci-fi films.

Passengers comes out Christmas 2016.
