The Last Trailer for The Last Guardian

The wait is almost over

This is it, ladies and gentlemen, we have finally made it. The Last Guardian is less then a month from release, they can’t possibly delay it now right? Right? Well, let’s hope not because the marketing for this game is now in full swing for what should be the final trailer for the game.

The trailer above was posted today on PlayStation’s official YouTube page for the upcoming epic, The Last Guardian. An entire generation of gamers has grown up in the time between this games announcement and release and the 10 years of buildup are soon to be tested.

As a successor to cult classics of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, Studio Japan’s latest video game world has a lot to live up to stylistically and emotionally. While neither of those games ever sold extremely well and chances are neither will The Last Guardian due to its niche nature, the critical sense for the game has to reach such a high bar set by its predecessor and its 10-year development cycle.

The trailer above shows the similar footage we have seen with the game during all of its demos with the boy running from some evil and his famed “bird-dog” catching him so the video does not show any new mechanics from the game, but that is pretty standard in cinematic trailers.

The Last Guardian is set to release on December 6th, as long as no more delays are incurred and it has gamer anxiously waiting as to just what this game will be, it will one of two games to release in December 2016 that have been under such a long development cycle with Final Fantasy XV being the other.

Are you excited for The Last Guardian? Will it be worth the wait? It can’t possibly be delayed again, can it? Let us know in the comments below, on the RGM Forums, or over on our Twitter.
