2017s Games with Gold is Off to a Great Start

A great start to 2017, long may it continue

The first batch of free games for 2017 have been announced for the Games with Gold program for Xbox Live subscribers. The games announced for January have been announced by Major Nelson on his blog.

In his post, Major Nelson, revealed that World of Van Helsing: Deathtrapand Killer Instinct: Season 2 Ultra Edition will be heading to the Xbox One.

On Xbox 360, there is The Cave and the awesome and highly requested Rayman Origins. Don’t forget that means there are four titles on the Xbox One (two Xbox One titles and two via backwards compatibility from the Xbox 360) and two titles for Xbox 360 players.

You have unlimited access to these games for the duration that you keep an Xbox Live Gold subscription active.

Here is some more information on the titles that will be available during the month of January 2017 for Xbox Live Gold members:

On Xbox One there are:

World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap ($19.99) will be available through the whole month of December, from January 1st until January 31st.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 Ultra Edition ($39.99) will be available from January 16th through to February 15th.

Below are the titles that are for both Xbox One and Xbox 360:

The Cave ($14.99) is available from January 1st until January 15th.

Rayman Origins ($14.99) will be available from January 16th through to January 31st.

For Xbox gamers that is a possible total saving of $89.96 worth of new games if you decide to install each title available in January.

Don’t forget, you still have to ability to claim your free titles for the Xbox One via the website even if you don’t own the console yet. You can secure your free license for the game so that when you upgrade in the future you have these titles sitting there ready for installation, as long as you have a gold subscription.
