Underworld: Blood Wars Official Trailer Released

Underworld is back for blood

The Underworld series has quite a history, with the long-running action-horror franchise having started in 2003. It quickly became a hit with fans of the genre, receiving three sequels. The idea that Vampires and Werewolves could be shown Matrix-style with more guns and fight scenes but with less emphasis on horror was something quite revelatory.

Now, the fourth film, Underworld: Blood Wars has been released in a select few countries, with a US release impending on January 7, 2017. A final adrenaline-packed trailer has been revealed, with long running implications on the future of the war between the Vampires and the Lycans.

Staples of previous films, such as the moody, gothic tone and dark imagery are present. Selene now appears to be in a dangerous place with multiple factions vying for the powers her blood possesses. A noteworthy newcomer to the series is Charles Dance, a renowned actor widely known for his role as Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones.  He plays a mysterious Vampire Elder who appears to know more about the path Selene and her compatriots must take.
