Gears of War 4 Getting Social Crossplay

Social Crossplay
Gears of War 4 is Getting Social Crossplay.

When Gears of War 4 released on October 13 last year, it supported crossplay in a limited fashion. Gears of War 4 is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, which means that if you buy the game digitally, you get a copy on Xbox and Windows 10. Players on both platforms could enjoy playing through the campaign, or jump into Horde and private matches together. There was a brief network test last year but otherwise no options were available. Now, however, there is great news for players who want to enjoy matchmaking alongside one another. The Coalition has announced that Gears of War 4 will be getting full crossplay in the social matchmaking playlist.

Interesting statistics from the network tests were also revealed. Results showed that players on Windows 10 and Xbox One were very closely skilled. Kill-death averages were very close, as well as 95% of players finishing a match they started. Ultimately, this is great news for gamers on Xbox and Windows 10, as Gears of War 4 should benefit from a larger, unified playerbase as a result.
